Teams No Longer Allowed in Pre-to-Post?
Did they make a change to the transition from Pre-Searing Ascalon to Pose-Searing Ascalon? I've taken four characters through there in the last week or so, and in all four cases it not only skipped the PvP section, but also split up myself and my partner and forced us to do the mini-mission against Vatlaaw Doomtooth separately.
I know it's no big deal to do it solo with the henchmen, but it's more fun with a friend and that's the way we always used to do it. We never had this issue of constantly being forced to split up (even though we are on the team together when we took the quest to go in, clicked the 'my team is ready' and watched the countdown together) that we do anymore. I was used to having the issue of always having to PvP in there with myself and the henchmen against three or four other real players, always being out numbered with real players each time I've even gone through there... even my partner has had that issue when he has gone through there alone, but that's not that big of a problem, except that anymore it seems that if we try to go in as a team, we are not only forced to skip the PvP entirely, but to also be separated for the battle against Vatlaaw Doomtooth. So why is this? Are teams no longer allowed there? If you try to go through with a friend you'll be forced to skip the PvP and always be separated? If so, then why leave the option there to go in with a team if it's only going to penalize you without warning, for trying to do so. ? I've been playing Guild Wars since June 2005, I have half a dozen accounts and make characters in the Prophecies campaign just for Pre-Searing and because it's more fun then the other starter areas, and often I just make a character to go through that and delete and remake them once they hit Post-Searing... so I know I'm not doing anything different that I used to do, I'm not suddenly clicking the wrong option or anything. Nothing has changed, or rather nothing that I seem to have any control over. |

It may be because no one else is trying to leave pre searing. There's probably a minimum requirement to enter the PvP bit. I actually went through to post searing by myself a couple weeks back. I didn't have to do PvP, and I thought it must be because there was no one else to compete against.
But then again, I'm not sure why it would split your team up. It's probably a bug. I can't see why Anet would disallow going in with a partner. |

No big deal to me, since I'm more a PvE player...but I wonder why it was skipped. Minimum player amount maybe? |

I went through there with my Survivor and when things got tough in the PVP fight, I closed out the game. Came back and found myself in post-searing.

Many months ago, when pulling one of my characters out of PreSearing, the game skipped right over the PvP part and I was able to move on. I couldn't figure out why; I assumed that perhaps there were no other human players that had chosen to move out of PreSearing at that precise point. At any rate, this isn't new in the least since this happened well before Nightfall came out.

On occasion when you leave Pre-Searing you will skip the PVP arena. I believe that it has something to do with the number of players leaving Pre at teh time we choose to also. As far as splitting the team up I realy am unsure as to why they do that as it has happened to me on a rather large number of times. I have encountered this everytime that I have left Pre with my characters, while hitting the PVP arena in about 3 out of 5 tries.
